One app, the whole ecosystem

The Chutex app is the meeting point of the ecosystem. Devices send their measurements to it, Aria reads the trends in it, the services live in it, and loved ones receive the alerts the beneficiary has chosen to share. It is developed and maintained in France by the Chutex teams, who remain the data controller.

Three roles coexist in the same app. The beneficiary follows their own measurements, their longevity passport and their programs. The guardian is a relative, a caregiver or an authorized professional: they see what the beneficiary shares and receive the alerts. The partner professional, a coach, a physiotherapist or a home-care service, gets a dedicated space when a support plan is active.

The app works without a device. Care, Sport, Physio and Memory can be used with or without a connected object; devices enrich the follow-up with real measurements, they are not a condition for using it.

What is Aria, and what does it not do?

Aria is Chutex’s artificial intelligence, built into the app. Its job is to organize your history so that trends, departures from your habits and points worth your attention stand out, and then to explain them to you clearly. It compares your recent measurements, from the Elio band or the Vita scale, with your own profile to spot an unusual trend, for instance sleep that worsens over several nights or a resting heart rate that stays high.

In Care, Aria also handles the voice check: as soon as an alert is triggered, it calls the beneficiary within seconds to make sure everything is fine, while the guardians are notified at the same moment. If the doubt is not cleared, the Care protocol continues with the guardians and then, in France, with a partner home-care company.

Aria is neither a doctor nor a substitute for medical advice. It makes no diagnosis, prescribes nothing and does not call the emergency services on your behalf. In a life-threatening emergency, the reflex remains the emergency number of your country: 911 in the United States, 999 or 112 in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Aria: what it does and what it does not do
What Aria doesWhat Aria does not do
Reads your measurements over time and flags an unusual trendDoes not make a diagnosis and does not name a disease
Writes understandable reports and trend commentsDoes not prescribe a treatment or a test
Suggests prevention and lifestyle recommendationsDoes not replace a consultation or a health professional
In Care, calls the beneficiary to clear the doubt and notifies the guardiansDoes not call the emergency services on your behalf
In Memory, listens, prompts and files your memoriesInvents nothing in your place

The longevity passport and trends

The longevity passport is your record in the app. With your consent, it gathers the history of your measurements from the Elio band and the Vita scale, your check-ups, your blood test results if you added them, and the elements you confirmed in Memory. A short lifestyle questionnaire, covering smoking, alcohol and physical activity, refines the indicative estimate of your biological age.

Trends are the main point. A single measurement says little; a curve over several weeks shows whether sleep, recovery, body composition or activity are moving in the right direction. Aria comments on these trends and tells a one-off deviation from a continuous change.

The passport exports as a PDF to be shared with a doctor, a coach or a physiotherapist, and sharing stays in your hands: you choose what to share, with whom, and you can withdraw it. These indicators are wellness and prevention indicators, not diagnostic data.

Which devices connect, and what do they report?

Five Chutex devices connect to the app. Each one reports a specific kind of measurement, and none of them makes a diagnosis: the site’s product truth pages describe what each one measures and what it does not. The table below takes up those facts; the product pages remain the reference for specifications and prices.

Which services live in the app?

Four support services are activated from the app, plus the medical teleconsultation included in Care for beneficiaries in France. Each service has its own truth page, with its exact content, availability and price. This section sums up what they are and where they stand.

Chutex Care is a 4G connected telecare service available in France only. It includes the Elio 4G band with an SOS button, Aria’s voice check at any hour, alerts to loved ones and guardians, the beneficiary app and the guardian space. In France it adds the included medical teleconsultation, separate from the voice check, and escalation to a partner home-care company. Care is not regulated medical remote monitoring and does not replace the emergency services.

Chutex Sport and Chutex Physio are two human support plans inside the app: a state-certified sports coach for one, a dedicated physiotherapist for the other. The program and nutrition on the Sport side, and the home exercise program on the Physio side, are adjusted to the sleep, heart rate variability and training load measured by Elio, which is required for the follow-up. Both open soon in France; their pages let you be notified at launch.

Chutex Memory is a life-memory service: you talk with Aria, your memories are kept and then structured into a narrative, with a printed book as an option. Memory is coming soon; the service page describes the journey and its monthly price without commitment.

Loved ones, guardians, SOS and consent

The circle of guardians is the social heart of the app. A guardian is a person the beneficiary registers themselves: family, neighbor, caregiver, professional. They see what the beneficiary has chosen to share, receive the alerts and can signal with one tap that they are stepping in, which the other guardians see at once. The number of guardians is not limited.

Consent is the rule. Nothing is shared without the beneficiary’s agreement; the beneficiary chooses the data visible to each guardian and can withdraw an access at any time. Geolocation is used mainly during an alert or when leaving a defined zone, and access rights are set guardian by guardian.

The SOS is a button on the Elio 4G band supplied with the Care contract: it works without a router, without a landline and without the beneficiary’s smartphone, as long as the mobile network is available. The Elio band bought on its own, in its health version, does not have this 4G SOS button. Elder, for its part, alerts loved ones through the app after its airbag has deployed.

The Care alert chain, step by step

  1. 1Trigger: SOS button pressed, indicative health threshold crossed, or Elder deployment if the person wears it.
  2. 2Aria calls the beneficiary to clear the doubt.
  3. 3The guardians are alerted in parallel in the app.
  4. 4A guardian signals that they are stepping in; the others see it.
  5. 5Guardian on site or, in France, the nearest partner home-care company if the doubt is not cleared.
  6. 6Map tracking and notifications when the journey allows it.
  7. 7Closure: care provided or a report, history kept in the guardian space.
  8. 8Emergency services, with your country’s emergency number, in a life-threatening emergency.

Where does your data go, and what are your rights?

The health data of the ecosystem is stored on a server located in France, at Free Pro in Istres. Free Pro is HDS certified, the French health data hosting certification. Details of the processing are set out in our privacy policy. The administration of the server is handled by INFORMATIQUE DOM, whose HDS certification is not established, and the production hosting contract is being finalized. Chutex, or Chutex Care during an active Care contract, remains the data controller. The service as a whole is not presented as HDS certified.

According to the Chutex privacy policy, exchanges between the website, the app and the servers are encrypted with TLS, the link from the 4G band to the servers is not, sign-in relies on a one-time SMS code and role-based access control, access to sensitive data is logged, and an encrypted backup of the database is made every day. Measurements, positions, alerts and logs older than five years are deleted automatically.

Your rights are those of the General Data Protection Regulation: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent. They can be exercised from the app, by email or by post, with an answer within one month, and a complaint can be lodged with the French data protection authority, the CNIL.

  • Hosting: server in France at Free Pro, HDS-certified.
  • Data controller: Chutex, or Chutex Care during an active Care contract.
  • Scope: Elio vitals and sleep, Vita body composition, Elder alerts and history, data from the app, from Aria and from teleconsultation in France, PDF exports and authorized sharing.

In which countries and languages?

The app’s global features are identical in every country served by the website: app, Aria, alerts, guardians, SOS, prevention, Care, Sport, Physio and Memory. Only two features depend on the country, because they are regulated or operated locally: medical teleconsultation and the home-care intervention network, currently available in France.

The rule is written in Chutex’s capability registry and applies in the same way to the website and to the app. Teleconsultation depends on the country of the beneficiary’s phone number, never on the app language: a French number in an English interface keeps access to doctors, a US number in a French interface does not see them. The home-care network depends on the country where the service is delivered.

The app follows the language of the phone. The website exists in twelve languages, with the same navigation and the same pages everywhere; the language selector keeps you on the current page. Prices are shown in the currency of the market.

Platforms and compatibility

Each device connects in its own way: Elio over Bluetooth, Vita over Wi-Fi, Model I through its included Bluetooth module, Dorsi over Bluetooth, Elder through the app for geolocation and alerts. In Care, the Elio 4G band carries its own mobile connection: no router, no landline and no beneficiary smartphone is needed for the SOS alert, as long as the mobile network is available.

When to see a professional, and when to call the emergency services

The app, Aria and the devices provide wellness and prevention indicators. They replace neither a diagnosis, nor a consultation, nor a treatment. A trend that worries you, a new symptom, pain, a recent fall or feeling unwell are reasons to see a health professional, and in France the Care teleconsultation lets you talk to a doctor.

In a life-threatening emergency, call the emergency services before anything else: 911 in the United States, 999 or 112 in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Neither Aria, nor the app, nor Elder calls the emergency services on your behalf.

Information, not medical advice: the indicators shown by the app and by Aria do not replace a diagnosis or a consultation.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Chutex app free?
Yes. The devices and the support services each have their own price, shown on their page.
Do I need a Chutex device to use it?
No. Care, Sport, Physio and Memory work with or without a device. Elio, Vita, Dorsi, Model I and Elder enrich the follow-up with real measurements. Sport and Physio do, however, require the Elio band for data follow-up.
What is Aria?
Aria is Chutex’s artificial intelligence, built into the app. It organizes your history, brings out trends and departures from your habits, and writes reports and prevention recommendations. In Care, it handles the voice check by calling the beneficiary.
Can Aria make a diagnosis?
No. Aria is neither a doctor nor a substitute for medical advice. It makes no diagnosis, prescribes nothing and does not call the emergency services. In an emergency, call your country’s emergency number.
What is the longevity passport?
It is your record in the app: history of Elio and Vita measurements, check-ups, blood test results you added, elements confirmed in Memory, a lifestyle questionnaire and an indicative estimate of biological age. It exports as a PDF and can be shared with whoever you choose.
Where is my health data stored?
On a server located in France, at Free Pro in Istres, HDS certified and the production contract is being finalized. Chutex, or Chutex Care during an active Care contract, remains the data controller.
What are my rights over my data?
Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent, under the GDPR. They can be exercised from the app, by email or by post, with an answer within one month. A complaint can be lodged with the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
Is the app available in my country and my language?
The app follows the language of the phone and its global features are the same in every country served by the website. The website exists in twelve languages. Only medical teleconsultation and the home-care network depend on the country: they are available in France.
How do guardians and the SOS work?
The beneficiary registers their guardians and chooses what to share with each one. During an alert, Aria calls the beneficiary while the guardians are notified; one guardian signals they are stepping in and the others see it. The SOS button is the one on the Elio 4G band of the Care contract, which works without a router or smartphone.
