Sitting posture at the desk: understand it, correct it, without forcing
There is no single “ideal” sitting posture to hold: the goal is to alternate positions, move and limit prolonged slouching. Lumbar support and regular movement can help. Dorsi combines a cushion, a tilt sensor, a guided mobility check and mini-games. It is neither a rigid brace nor a treatment.
What this guide covers
Connected lumbar cushion, posture corrector, back pain when sitting, low back pain when working from home, low back pain prevention, desk posture, back programme, supervised low back rehabilitation, physiotherapist, workplace wellbeing, active older people and carers.
Each page links everyday habits, short exercises and the Dorsi cushion as a routine tool, with no promise to treat any condition.
Recommended daily routine
10 minutes a day: micro-breaks, guided movements, mini-games or a guided programme.
Share the indicative summaries with your physiotherapist if you are under their care. If your pain increases, see a health professional.
Hydration, short walks and sleep: compare with your Elio band to see whether tiredness makes morning stiffness worse.

Sources and limits
Low back checks and posture scores are indicative: they support your routine, not a diagnosis.

Fall protection: the Elder airbag vest for seniors is for protection when a fall happens, in France; the Dorsi cushion is for a seated-posture routine. They are complementary products in the Chutex ecosystem.
Desk posture without a rigid brace
Belts and harnesses often pull the shoulders back; Dorsi’s approach targets lumbar support plus guided movement (mobility check, mini-games).
The goal is a lasting habit (breaks plus mobility), not a permanent constraint.
A useful path
Understand sitting → compare a corrector or belt if needed → see the product’s limits → Dorsi product page.
What “good sitting posture” means (and does not mean)
There is no single position to hold for eight hours. The body needs variety: micro-movements, standing breaks, short walks.
Prolonged slouching can increase discomfort; sitting up straighter from time to time often helps, though it cannot guarantee you will have no pain.
What you can do in practice
Every 30–60 min: 1–2 minutes standing or walking. Adjust seat height and screen if you can. Support your lower back if the backrest leaves a gap.
Avoid correctors worn all day to “force” a position: favour movement and mobility.
Where Dorsi can help, and where it cannot
Possible help: lumbar support, mobility check, mini-games to stick to a routine.
It does not replace: a diagnosis, prescribed physiotherapy, a suitable chair or treatment for low back pain. Persistent pain → health professional.
Warning signs: get help quickly
Call 999 or 112 (in France also 15), or seek urgent care, especially if you have: pain after a severe injury; fever alongside the pain; progressive weakness or numbness in a leg; new bladder or bowel problems; intense night pain that does not ease; a history of cancer with recent pain; unexplained weight loss.
These examples draw on general public prevention messages (Ameli, the French national health insurance, and emergency services). They do not replace medical advice. Outside an emergency: pain that lasts, sciatica or any uncertainty → doctor or physiotherapist.
Dorsi: what the tool does and does not do
Dorsi supports consistency: lumbar support, lower back mobility check (indicative), guided programmes (short sessions), mini-games, indicative exportable summaries.
Dorsi does not treat low back pain, does not make diagnoses, is not a medical device, and does not replace a doctor or physiotherapist when clinical care is indicated.
Posture and sedentary work
Prolonged sitting is a common setting for lower back discomfort. Alternating positions, taking micro-breaks and using lumbar support often help, though they cannot guarantee you will have no pain.
Dorsi can support a mobility routine; it is not a miracle corrector.
When to see someone / warning signs
General information (messages in the style of Ameli, the French national health insurance, and emergency services): severe injury, fever, progressive neurological deficit, new bladder or bowel control problems, night pain that does not ease, a history of cancer with recent pain, unexplained weight loss → emergency care or prompt medical advice (999 or 112 if needed; in France also 15).
Outside an emergency: pain that lasts, pain that spreads, frequent recurrences or any uncertainty → doctor or physiotherapist. This site does not make diagnoses.
Where Dorsi can help, without being the answer to everything
Dorsi can support a routine: sitting posture, short guided exercises, gamification to help you stick with it, indicative summaries you can export.
It is not suited as an “automatic solution” for every case of low back pain. Severe pain, warning signs or a need for care: doctor / physiotherapist; human support is possible through Chutex Physio.
The Chutex ecosystem: back, recovery, body composition, strengthening
Dorsi anchors your lower back routine at the desk and in the car. The Elio band adds sleep, heart rate variability (HRV) and stress at the wrist, so you can compare tiredness with posture.
The Vita scale adds estimated body composition and nutrition. Model I strengthens the back with the guided pulley.
The Chutex pack includes Aria AI. Hosting of health data with a provider certified under HDS (the French health-data hosting certification) is reserved for eligible accounts in France and is not a promise outside France.
Chutex Care: telecare service (SOS/GPS) for the Elder vest, France only. Separate from the Dorsi Health cushion.
What Dorsi does, and what it does not do
Dorsi does
- Measure how far you tilt as you move while seated on the cushion (pelvic tilts, side tilts, circles).
- Build a guided lower back mobility check in the Chutex app (indicative).
- Offer mini-games controlled by moving on the cushion, for regular activity.
- Let you share or export indicative summaries with a loved one or a professional.
- Work with the rest of the Chutex ecosystem (same app), depending on your other products.
Dorsi does not
- Cure or treat low back pain, sciatica or any condition, or make it go away.
- Make a medical diagnosis or replace a physiotherapist or doctor.
- Promise instant relief or replace a painkiller.
- Guarantee clinical results.
- Work as a medical device.
Connected wellness product (comfort and posture). Persistent pain, sciatica, injury, pregnancy or a medical condition: consult a professional. Emergencies: 999 or 112 (in France also 15).

Dorsi is a wellness tool (not a medical device): guided exercise, prevention of bad habits, routine support and indicative tracking. It is not an automatic answer to every low back problem. If in doubt or if you notice a warning sign: health professional; emergencies: 999 or 112 (in France also 15).
FAQ
How do I correct my sitting posture at my desk?
Alternate positions and take micro-breaks, adjust your seat and screen if you can, and avoid forcing a fixed pose. Moving regularly helps more than holding one posture; mobility remains essential. Persistent pain or warning signs: see a professional. This is not a medical protocol. Guide: /sante-du-dos/posture-assise/
