Weight loss with connected tracking
Follow a trend rather than a number, understand your body composition, move and sleep: a tracking method, not a miracle diet. What Chutex brings, and what it leaves to your doctor.

According to the WHO, one person in seven worldwide was living with obesity in 2024. To track your weight at home, Chutex combines the Vita scale, which estimates body composition, the Elio band for sleep and activity, and Aria for trends. No diagnosis or rate of weight loss is promised: a doctor remains the person to consult.

Which benchmarks to keep in mind before starting?
The benchmarks come from the World Health Organization, in its fact sheet on overweight and obesity of 7 October 2026. In 2024, 1 in 7 people worldwide, 1.1 billion people, was living with obesity. Among adults aged 18 and over, 45%, 2.6 billion people, were overweight, including 940 million, 16% of adults, living with obesity. Among people aged 5 to 19, 400 million children and adolescents were overweight, including 170 million with obesity. These figures are global: they show the scale of the subject, not the situation of one person.
The WHO defines overweight and obesity in adults from the body mass index, or BMI, weight in kilograms divided by the square of height in meters: overweight from a BMI of 25, obesity from 30. This index is a population benchmark, simple to calculate, but it does not distinguish body fat from muscle mass, says nothing about the distribution of fat or about recent changes, and two people with the same BMI can have very different body compositions. Its interpretation, with age, medical history and treatments, is a matter for the doctor.
Morning weight varies from one day to the next with water retention, the previous day’s meal, the hormonal cycle or a workout; a single weigh-in tells you little. What informs you is the trend: the week’s average compared with that of the previous weeks, read alongside the activity and sleep of the same period. This page explains how to build this tracking at home, what the Chutex devices measure and the limits of what they can tell you.

What does the Vita scale measure, and what does it not say?
Vita is a connected scale with 8-electrode bioimpedance, linked to the app over Wi-Fi, with multiple profiles so that each person in the household keeps their own history. It measures weight and estimates body composition, body fat, muscle mass and body water, from the body’s resistance to a very low-intensity current. These values are indicative estimates: they are used to follow a change, not to establish a reference assessment, and they do not replace an examination carried out in a medical setting.
Paired with the Elio band, Vita puts each weigh-in in the context of sleep, activity and recovery, and offers an indicative, non-invasive estimate of glucose trends. This is a prevention trend, not a blood glucose reading: Vita is not a glucose meter and is not suitable for monitoring diabetes, which is a matter for a medical device and a doctor. Vita makes no diagnosis, neither of overweight nor of obesity.
The Vita pack, scale and 12 months of Chutex Health, is offered at 199 euros including VAT in France, as a one-time payment, with no automatic renewal. The table sums up, for each measurement, what it is for in weight tracking and the limits of what it can tell you.
| Measurement | What it is | What it is for in weight tracking | Limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weight | The total mass of the body, recorded at each weigh-in | Starting point of the trend, compared week after week | Varies from one day to the next with water, meals and the cycle; a single weigh-in is not informative on its own |
| Estimated body fat | Share of weight attributed to fat, estimated by bioimpedance | Telling, over several weeks, a loss of fat from a loss of water or muscle | Indicative estimate from a model, not a reference measurement; sensitive to hydration |
| Estimated muscle mass | Share of weight attributed to muscle, estimated by bioimpedance | Checking that muscle mass holds while weight changes | Same limit: an estimate, to be read as a trend and under the same weighing conditions |
| Body water | Share of water in the body, estimated by bioimpedance | Explaining a rapid change in weight that is neither fat nor muscle | Depends on the time of day, on drinks and on the previous day’s exercise; does not measure dehydration in the medical sense |
| Trend over several weeks | The change in weigh-ins read over time, with Elio’s sleep and activity when it is paired | The steering benchmark: knowing whether you are heading in the chosen direction without reacting to the day’s number | Does not say why the trend is changing; the explanation comes from habits and, if needed, from a professional |
| Indicative estimate of glucose trends, with Elio | A non-invasive trend estimate, from the signals of Vita and Elio | Spotting a prevention trend to discuss with a doctor | Not a blood glucose reading: Vita is not a glucose meter and is not suitable for monitoring diabetes |
How do you track your weight week after week?
The Chutex tracking method sets neither a diet, nor a number of calories, nor a rate of loss: these decisions depend on each person and are made with a professional. It organizes the measurement and how it is read, so that tracking stays reliable, calm and lasting, in six steps.
In the app, free and compatible from iOS 14, Aria puts each weigh-in in the context of the history, tells a one-off deviation from a continuous change and explains it in plain language, without making a diagnosis. The longevity passport keeps the weight, body composition, sleep and activity curves, to show them to a doctor or a coach.
- 1Set a realistic goal with a professional A doctor, a dietitian or a coach helps define a goal suited to your age, your medical history and your treatments, and decide whether it concerns weight, body composition or habits.
- 2Weigh yourself under the same conditions In the morning, on an empty stomach, on the same scale placed on a hard floor: the measurement becomes comparable from one day to the next and Vita’s estimates gain in consistency.
- 3Read the weekly trend, not the day’s weigh-in A single weigh-in moves with water and meals; the week’s average, compared with the previous ones, shows the real direction. Aria does this work and flags when a change is confirmed.
- 4Move according to the WHO benchmark At least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity per week for an adult, according to the WHO. Elio counts steps and activity; Model I offers resistance sessions at home, from 2 to 50 kg (4 to 110 lb).
- 5Sleep enough Inserm points out that 7 hours of sleep a day are usually recommended for an adult, against an average of 6 hours 42 minutes in France in 2017. Elio tracks the duration and regularity of nights.
- 6Take stock every month Each month, average weight, estimated body fat and muscle mass, activity and sleep are compared with the previous month: the basis for the discussion with your doctor or, in Chutex Sport, with your coach.
What human support for a weight project?
Chutex Sport entrusts your project to a state-certified sports coach, who builds a personalized program, a nutrition plan with, where appropriate, recommended supplements, and who remains reachable by messaging. The “body composition” goal is explicitly provided for: the coach adjusts the program according to the signals from Elio and Vita, sleep, recovery, activity, weight and estimated composition, and writes a structured monthly review. The service is offered at 99 euros per month including VAT in France, without commitment; it requires a Chutex Health subscription with Elio, with Vita remaining optional. It is announced in France first and will be available soon.
Chutex Sport is not a medical device and does not replace a doctor: the coach makes no diagnosis and prescribes nothing; in the event of illness, pregnancy or ongoing treatment, the project is discussed with your doctor first. Elio, a screenless health band of about 65 g (2.3 oz) with 15 days of battery life, brings to weight tracking what the scale cannot see: sleep duration and regularity, activity and steps, recovery, heart rate and heart rate variability. The Elio pack with 12 months of Chutex Health is offered at 264 euros including VAT in France.
The five devices do not play the same role in a weight project: Vita and Elio are at its heart, Model I is used for strengthening sessions at home, Elder and Dorsi meet other needs.

Do dietary supplements make you lose weight?
Chutex does not say so anywhere, and will not. Dietary supplements are foodstuffs, not medicines. On the website as in the app, only the health claims authorized by Regulation (EC) 1924/2006 and entered in the register of Regulation (EU) 432/2012 may accompany a supplement, with the wording of the register; no promise of weight loss is made, and no ingredient name is associated with a promise.
In Chutex Sport, the coach can recommend supplements as part of the nutrition plan; these recommendations follow the same rules, and the claims matrix used by Chutex is published, so that anyone can check what can be said and what cannot. The supplement catalog is not offered in the United States, and the catalog pages state what is available in your country. In the event of treatment, pregnancy or a medical diet, the advice of a doctor or pharmacist comes before any supplement.
What place for sleep and activity?
A weight project is not just about the scale. The WHO recommends that an adult do at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity per week; in 2022, 31% of adults worldwide, 1.8 billion people, did not reach this benchmark. According to Inserm, drawing on the Santé publique France barometer, adults in France slept an average of 6 hours 42 minutes per weeknight in 2017, below the 7 hours usually recommended, and 36% of people aged 18 to 75 slept less than 6 hours. These benchmarks are general prevention benchmarks, not prescriptions for losing weight; that is why the method takes them up without a numerical weight-loss target.
Connected tracking is there to see the three dimensions together. Elio measures sleep and activity, Vita weight and estimated composition, and the app shows them over the same period; Aria explains the trends, for instance activity that drops during a week of short nights, without drawing a diagnosis from it. Sharing these curves with a loved one or a professional, if you wish, helps you keep going over time without judging yourself by a number.
- Activity: at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity per week according to the WHO; Elio’s steps and activity show where you stand, with no imposed target.
- Sleep: 7 hours a day usually recommended according to Inserm; Elio tracks the duration and regularity of nights.
- Recovery: Elio’s heart rate variability and heart rate inform you about recovery, useful for adapting the intensity of sessions with your coach.
- Reading together: weight, sleep and activity over the same week, explained by Aria in the app.

What this tracking does not do
Saying what you do not do protects against empty promises. The limits below apply to this page, to the devices and to Chutex Sport, in every language of the website.
- It is not a medical weight-loss program: Chutex prescribes neither a diet, nor a calorie deficit, nor a rate of loss, and promises no result.
- No device makes a diagnosis, neither of overweight, nor of obesity, nor of an eating disorder, nor of diabetes; these diagnoses are a matter for a doctor.
- Vita gives indicative estimates of body composition, not reference measurements; they are read as a trend, under the same weighing conditions.
- Vita is not a glucose meter: the estimate of glucose trends with Elio is indicative and non-invasive, it does not measure blood glucose and is not suitable for monitoring diabetes.
- A weight-loss plan is discussed with a doctor, in particular in the event of illness, pregnancy, ongoing treatment or unintended weight loss.
- No dietary supplement is presented as a weight-loss product: only the claims authorized by the European regulations are used.
- Chutex Sport is neither Chutex Care nor Chutex Physio: it is support from a sports coach, not telecare or follow-up by a physiotherapist, and it does not replace a doctor.
In which country is this tracking available?
The app’s global features, longevity passport, Aria, weight, sleep and activity trends, are identical in every country served by the website. Chutex Sport is announced in France first; its availability in other countries will be shown on its page. The supplement catalog is not offered in the United States. Prices are shown in the currency of the market; the amounts quoted on this page, 199 euros for the Vita pack, 264 euros for the Elio pack, 99 euros per month for Chutex Sport and 1,990 euros for Model I, are the prices including VAT in France. The WHO benchmarks are global, those of Inserm concern France.
General information, not medical advice or a medical weight-loss program: a weight-loss plan is discussed with a doctor, especially in the event of illness, pregnancy or ongoing treatment. In an emergency, the reflex remains your country’s emergency number, 911 in the United States, 999 or 112 in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Frequently asked questions
- Can Vita tell me if I am overweight?
- No. Vita measures weight and estimates body composition, without making a diagnosis. The WHO defines overweight in adults from a body mass index of 25 and obesity from 30; the interpretation is a matter for a doctor.
- How often should you weigh yourself?
- Under the same conditions, in the morning, on an empty stomach, on the same scale, reading the week’s average rather than the day’s number. The frequency is chosen with the professional who supports you.
- How much weight can you lose per month with Chutex?
- Chutex gives no rate of loss and no promise of results: there is no figure that holds for everyone, and a goal is set with a doctor or a professional. Connected tracking is there to read the real trend.
- Are Vita’s body fat estimates reliable?
- They are indicative estimates obtained by 8-electrode bioimpedance, sensitive to hydration and to the time of the weigh-in. Read under the same conditions and over several weeks, they make it possible to follow a change; they do not replace a reference examination.
- Does Vita measure blood glucose?
- No. With Elio, Vita offers an indicative, non-invasive estimate of glucose trends, a piece of prevention information to discuss with a doctor. Vita is not a glucose meter and is not suitable for monitoring diabetes.
- What does Chutex Sport include for a body composition goal?
- A state-certified sports coach, a personalized program, a nutrition plan with recommended supplements where appropriate, messaging and a monthly review, adjusted according to the signals from Elio and Vita. In France, 99 euros per month including VAT, without commitment, with a Chutex Health subscription and Elio; announced in France first.
- Is Elio needed to track your weight with Vita?
- Not for the scale alone: Vita measures weight and estimates body composition without Elio. Pairing adds sleep, activity, recovery and the indicative estimate of glucose trends; Chutex Sport, for its part, requires Elio.
- Do Chutex dietary supplements help you lose weight?
- Chutex makes no promise of weight loss for a supplement. Only the claims authorized by Regulation (EC) 1924/2006 and the register of Regulation (EU) 432/2012 are used, the matrix is published, and the catalog is not offered in the United States.
- Should I see a doctor before starting?
- Yes, it is the first step of the method, all the more so in the event of illness, pregnancy, ongoing treatment or unintended weight loss. Chutex is not a medical weight-loss program: the doctor sets the framework.
- How much does connected weight tracking cost?
- The app is free, from iOS 14. In France, the Vita pack with 12 months of Chutex Health is 199 euros including VAT, a one-time payment with no automatic renewal, the Elio pack 264 euros including VAT and Chutex Sport 99 euros including VAT per month without commitment. Elsewhere, prices are shown in the currency of the market.
